What are dental implants?

Dental implants are a permanent replacement for missing teeth. They can provide a functional, flossable and fixed solution to restore dental function and health. Implants consist of three components: a titanium post (implant), abutment (connector) and the implant crown (tooth restoration). The first step in the procedure is placing the dental implant. After placement there is 3-5 months of healing, as your jaw bone grows stronger and accepts the implant. During this time a temporary can be placed to provide aesthetics and complete smile while the body is healing. After the implant fuses with the jawbone, the attachment and permanent crown is fabricated and placed.
